Creative Labs Vado HD Pocket Video Camcorder Review

The Creative Labs Vado HD pocket video camcorder has a conveniently removable rechargeable battery and mini HDMI connector. This model also comes with a cable for viewing 1080i videos on your HDTV straight from the camcorder. The unit has a 2-inch anti-reflective LCD screen display for previewing shots and reviewing the videos that has been recorded.
The Creative Labs Vado HD pocket video camcorder has a lens that extends a little from the body instead of being slightly recessed like on many other models. This newer model is a little thicker and weighs at just 3.5 ounces. It is very portable where it can easily fit into your pants or jacket pocket. This pocket camcorder also has 8GB of built-in memory (instead of 4GB in some competing models) that allows for the storage of 2 hours of HD video.
This pocket video camcorder captures H.264 encoded videos at 30 frames per second at a 1280x720 resolution. It saves them as AVI files rather than in the MPEG-4 format. The batteries on this unit are recharged when it is connected to your computer.
Using a flip-out USB connector, the Creative Labs Vado HD camcorder allows the operator to plug into a Windows or Macintosh system. Once connected, the built-in software automatically prompts you with the options of playing videos, uploading or creating a movie. This makes operation very streamlined and convenient. All in all, the Creative Labs Vado HD is a wonderful little camcorder and is an excellent alternative to the very popular Flip UltraHD.
